my friend has 2 old clam fish traps and we are going to test the warmth with no heater. clam vs eskimo.

i've been in the eskimo pop up and it's plenty cozy. however i think snow cover will play a large role as far as keeping it stable as far as windy days. i think they are also great for remote lake fishing as they are light weight and can be transported easily. there are pluses and minus's for everything. but when it's cold out both will need a heater. good luck.

Hey Robert.. You may wanna set that hut of yours up once or thrice in the garage or yard before you hit the ice just to get the hang of it eh. Every hut no matter brand or style has it's quirks when it comes to set up and tear down.

Would'nt be surprized iffin you have'nt already done this already though!!

Good advise Fiskyknut.

It really does help to get the bugs out ahead of time. Getting used to set-up, take down, and putting it in the bag again takes some practice.

Each trip things will shake out a bit easier.
