an extension that is! If you plan on catching some late season ice up on Lake Of the Woods. This is the 48" long auger version and the 14" extension, even with the extension it can be questionable depending on the snow pack.

Here is a fun video on lake Vermillion...48 inches would not cut it.

38 second video.

I get a kick out of that video, but how come there are only shavings from a hole about 24" thick? There would be a shavings pile 5' tall if it indeed went through that much ice! Even when they panned out there wasn't any piles.

I did seed the Nunavit title at the begining, but not a far and wide traveler, did not click that it was a place. Now I will have to look it up to see where in the world they grow that much ice! After the video finished, I did look at the tag line in the box that said Vermillion. Maybe someone retagged it to get more fishing on Vermillion?

That IS a whole lot of ice. Think how long it will take to get your transducer back out of that hole just to do a bit of ice trolling....ya' right huh?1?

Maybe a ladder, which happens to be sitting next to all of the ice shavings. smile

I suppose they could drill with a 4' auger bit, bolt another 4' extension with flighting, drill that down, bolt on another extension, etc etc...
