Need help with install CD

I recently did a factory restore on my laptop. I went and reinstalled most of my programs, but I am having issues with one of them.

It's my favorite photo software so it's kind of bumming me out, but anyways I discovered that the CD is cracked and I cannot complete the install.

I tried the scotch tape trick, but that didn't work. I have the software installed on a networked PC downstairs, but need to have it on my laptop as well.

I can access a good majority of the disc by "exploring".

Is there any way to make this work with what I have? I'm currently transferring all the files I can from the disc to the laptop and skipping files it doesn't recognize.

I also called Microsoft and they don't offer a replacement CD. I guess I could just buy a new CD, but thought I would ask here first.

Do you know anyone that has MS Works? I know on some of the earlier versions, Picture It was included with that suite of software...... just an idea.

Found the disc. It is PictureIt Express v9.0

Yeah that's probably the same one. This one here says Digital Image Suite 10

I think I got this one when I bought a printer or something. It doesn't have a "suite" of software, just Picture It.

Try Picasa3 free from google. Works great.

Since I haven't been able to install PI, I've tried Picasa, Photoscape and Gimp.

Working with a lot of photos I became accustomed to how PI worked and now the others feel clunky and confusing. I'm sure with time they would all work well.

Picasa was the best of the 3, but didn't have any kind of smart scissors or magic wand which I like to use from time to time.

Have you tried Paint Shop Pro ? I like the older versions (3.0 etc) better, but even the new ones are very good.

Oh how I love actions! I set a few up for some clients of mine so they couple update pictures for their HSOforum. two actions, created and saved a thumbnail and large view for their image slide shows. Sadly they still couldn't figure it out. LOL

Depending on what you are doing try photoscape. It is another freebie, I think it is a bit more user friendly than picasa.
