Scott K
Quote:Vikings hired former Falcons QBs coach Bill Musgrave as offensive coordinator. He picked Minnesota over Cleveland, despite Colt McCoy's presence with the Browns. Unless he was simply going after more money, Musgrave must not have been high on McCoy's long-term prospects. A longtime quarterbacks coach, Musgrave was last a coordinator on Jacksonville's staff in 2003 and 2004, coaching the Jags to a No. 12 ranking in his first season but No. 21 in his second. Musgrave's offenses have long been run-first, which theoretically bodes well for Adrian Peterson. He'll obviously need a major QB upgrade. FISHINGURU
I don't know much about the guy personally but I like the sounds of us wanting to get back to pounding the rock. This guy probably knows the importance of getting a good qb and having a good O-line. Here's something I read earlier today about it.Musgrave worked with Matt Ryan in Atlanta, but likely appeals to Frazier because of his work in the Falcons’ run-first system. Frazier has said that running back Adrian Peterson should be the focal point of the Vikings offense going forward, especially with Brett Favre not coming back.“The players on the offensive side of the ball are very attractive to be associated with,” Musgrave said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to utilizing their strengths to get fantastic results. The offensive weapons on this squad are impressive.”

This is a passing league. Work on getting the passing game going and the run game will follow.
zepman
I agree...without a qb and a passing game, Adrian and the Vikes are going nowhere.

nonteepical
it's for sure a passing league, but you have to play to your strengths and without a quarterback... adrian is exciting to watch you never know when he'll break one, but it will be alot of 3 and outs with him. way to many 1-2 yd and negative yard runs in a row, untill he breaks a 60 yarder and makes his yards per run look good. bucketmouth64
If we don't have any type of a passing game opponents will just stack 8 men in the box and dare us to pass. This was happening to the Vikes once Favre was out.
FISHINGURU
Running the ball and playing tough defense wins Superbowls. You need a QB that can extend plays, you don't need to throw for 300-400 yards a game to win.
