Pinusbanksiana
I unthawed a pile of walleye last eve and now I see I don't have any liquid cooking oil at home. Does anyone use the solid crisco or should I make the trip to town, 10 miles? I really don't want to go to town but I want to eat these fish pretty bad. prov1900
Crisco is fine, just add it slowly to the frying pan. As I understand it, it doesn't have a high smoke point, like peanut oil, so keep your flame down and let it get to temp slowly.
highlife4me
Put a little butter in there with the crisco for a little more flavor, just remember to keep the temp down. Good eatin!

SrBrits
I unthawed a pile of walleye last eve i hate to be a start arse, but isn't "unthawed" frozen? now if you said defrosted, or thawed, or unfroze it would make more sence, so i had to ask. i've heard that said many times, and can't help but respond, unthawed means frozen. Redlantern
Just having fun. As soon as I correct someone, I usually end up making a mistake and someone is usually kind enough to point it out to me. One of my pet peeves is a hot water heater. Isn't a water heater enough?
