Zero pressure @ the water tank in basement?????

I have NO pressure on the gauge by the tank in my basement. I assume the pump is bad???? Or could the tank itself be bad??? Any thoughts?? Got the man on the way over later today, but was just curious until he gets here.... it is a dug well with a submersible pump...

Thanks.....

had that problem once it was just the right temp and my limit switch had frosted over just under the well cap. took a hair blower and thawd it out worked just fine after that. worth a try to check out with the weather the way it's been.

I would imagine your pressure switch is mounted in the house next to the tank.

Check to see if the breaker is tripped.

Next culprit would be the pressure switch. A sticky or dirty contact.

Since you have someone coming out might as well leave it alone.

When you have tanks and or switches in a crawl space or casing the first thing that freezes is the water tube and the switch. Also that tube being small can get scale or rust caught in there.

Good Luck, I hope the problem is an easy fix.

Had that happen and it ended up being a frozen main water line going into the ground.

Bought a forclosed house two Winters ago right after a -20 cold snap.

First the water line froze. Then a Wirsbo water line broke. Then the furnace had to be fixed. Then the septic tank froze. $1,000 unexpected after paying $396,000!!! A few more repairs then expected on a 3 year old house.
