lost the nut on my auger

the bolt that holds the auger to my powerhead lost its nut. it is a Nils

where can I find a replacement? I looked in the nils webpage they dont seem to have parts

After you get the new nut take eleictrical tape and wrap around the bolt and nut, this goes for all brands of augers.

If you dont take it apart you could use locktite on the threads or see if you can pick up a nylock nut for it as these wont fall off from vibration as easy.

My strikemaster doesnt have a nut its got threaded flute and then the bolt just goes into that. I still locktite it thou.

FYI the red locktite is the hardest to get aprt after it dries so I would suggest the blue color also only use a drop on the threads.

The StrikeMaster hex machine bolt and nut will work if you wish. Order direct or buy at a hardware store or farm machinery store.

Or, of you wish a quick detach option for the power head. Get a like diameter safety locking pin from the local hardware store or truck & trailer shop.

They are similar to what Otter utilizes on there hitch kits with a rounded safety wire loop, and prove to be less of a snag hazard the one may think. If you do some comparisons you will find they are tight and not much slop to rattle in the hole. The metric sizes run a bit larger, and fit tighter.

I like the idea of electrical tape best.

I don't want to use a permanent solution as I may get a larger auger bit and want to swap now and then.

Cyberfish make sure you tighten that thing next time. You shouldnt have that problem if its on right and tight. With that said if you cant find that type bolt e-mail me and I will send you one of mine. E-mail is below.

I think it is an M10 nut you will need.
