Jared is a known danger to the opposing teams. Yes, he wasn't as good this year as normal, but everybody is being sure that he is double-teamed or at least picked up every play. And he still manages to do some damage.

he was not double teamed very often this season. don't think anybody thinks he's a bad player but he really had no right to criticize the qb play when he wasn't playing all that well himself. remember not too long ago when so many were up in arms about chilly "throwing favre under the bus" with is criticism of the qb play? that's basically what jared did with tj. (not saying his statements were wrong, but neither were chilly's but it's all about being a team player and watching your teammates back.

It's hard to "double team" an outside rusher....and it just doesn't happen very often to any of them. Kevin Williams get's double teamed quite often. What most people who claim he is not being double teamed are forgetting is that there is a running back/fullback waiting to chip him once he gets by the tackle. The backs will always protect the q-backs back-side first...which is Allens side.

One other thing....the style of defense we have run for the majority of the year has been that of the "non-blitz" ilk. I think we can all agree that what we saw against the Eagles was a dramatic shift in defensive philosophy in that we blitzed the %$@%$ out of them. Allen was all over the field making plays because the running backs/fullbacks could not just key in on him but had to take first threat (blitzers).

Allen is an elite defensive end in this league. If you want to get on somebody make it Ray Edwards...he should be at the top of the sack charts every year yet he continually plays like a dog.

I've seen Jared get chipped by TE's and HB's/FB's alot this season. All the help in blitz pick ups goes to his side because no one has to worry about Gay Edwards, maybe if the TE's or HB's/FB's had to worry about that side of the field ever it would make Jared and Kevin that much better.

The only reason he was in position to make the play was because Backus knocked him that far off the ball. I will say it was good hand work and running to get to the endzone. However, he did GET dominated on the kittens final touchdown. He got owned by another TE while the RB pranced in. If I were the opposing team I would run at him all game.

yep. that play alone will put the vikes in the superbowl this season and gives him the right to criticize his teammates. who cares if he got eaten up against the rush. cmon jared, lets start ripping the qb on your team again or whomever you feel like because you made a great play today so you've now got every right to throw whatever teammate you want under the bus.

I think we all owe chilly an apology too for getting on him for criticizing favre. after all, he coached them almost to a superbowl so he should have the right to say anything bad he wants to reporters about anybody on the team.
