dishwasher problems

Blarkey,

My guess is that you'll get better answers if you give more detail. New unit? Install yourself? Not new - how long has it been working and when did it quit? Did it quit all of a sudden or was it gradual? Have you done anything else with the plumbing system in the house that could have caused boogers to float up and block a line or valve? When you put the part in that you mentioned did you by chance get too much teflon tape on something and now it's restricting the flow?

I've had great luck getting advice on FM but the guys in the know want to know some info.

Tom

blarkey, the reason I asked about the dishwasher connection is that Menards sells a hose that has a shut off valve built into it. It's been my experience that these don't allow enough water to get through to get a satisfactory washing. Just something to look at. Me, I prefer using copper tubing and not the braided hoses.

Did the kit you bought include a "piercing" valve? You would have installed the "valve" onto a local pipe then pierced it by turning in the handle, then backed it out allowing the water to run through the pipe. If this the kit you installed, replace it with an actual tee on the water pipe and an actual valve.

I would agree with the possibility of lime buildup. Can you take any of the wand apart and soak it in lime away or something. I've heard you can clean rust and such off the inside of a dishwasher using Tang - never tried it but heard it works, but that's not your problem.
