How did area 246 do this year?

Used to hunt there years ago and our family still has land in the area. Thought I might try it again next year. The trouble is, zone 2 and I live in zone 1.

after the past couple of seasons being lottery it sure looked like numbers are climbing. We had a good year, maybe to good as we didn't go up 2nd weekend and have the woods to ourselves again (really like big woods and no hunters).

Most groups I talked to were satisfied with the numbers of deer, like always hope for a few more. Only one group did really bad that I know up there. As always though ALOT of hunters around opening weekend.

We filled our 2 tags opening day. Their was alot of hunters out this year compared to last year. Went up last week to do a little after season scouting with the snow. Saw good sign of deer & lots of wolf track. Everywhere I went on a 5 mile road there was wolf track crossing and going down the road.

We did well also, 4 bucks and a doe for 7 of us, we quit on Monday night. Went back second weekend, not a soul or a shot anywhere hunting around us. Talked to a couple others that did well too.
