It wasn't blocked for me, but I DID get a call from my bank verifying the purchase because it was through Google via Euros. I'm sure there is a way you can get your bank to let it through Nick. [/quote

That's all I needed to know. I am glad the bank didn't let it go through, however I am not happy they didn't give me a call? Kinda defeats the purpose of stopping a payment if you don't let me know!

Thanks D! smile

I got a call within seconds of me trying to purchase this app with them wanting me to verify the purchase. Using my TCF Bank check card. I acknowledged the purchase and everything went fine.

I was debating downloading this. Reading the reviews on the app market there is a lot of negative ones. Anyone still having issues? is it worth the 13 dollars yet? I do not have much use for it, but heck for 13 dollars who cares right? Typically I fish on mille lacs and the boat I use is equipped with gps and lake maps.

to download or not to download?

Its worth the $13 even with any issues. I cant even believe anyone would hesitate. Heck, I would have paid more than double that and still accept some of the issues.

The issues I had were downloading it initially and then periodically I open it and there is no detail. Force close the app and it comes back.

Its a no brainer! Download it.

I am sure you blow $13 on more stupid stuff than this like me.

I had my phone on airplane mode so maybe they did call?

i was running wifi when trying it out and it crashed immediately. turned it off and im having fun now!

You're going to love it. Yeah there may be a few quirky things with it, but IMO there isnt a better $13 to spend for a fisherman out there.

Works great for me and definitely worth the money. Anyone seriously having problems either A. did not follow the instructions or B. has not read the volumes of information here about the topic and what the fixes are. Anyone thats having problems with it IMO is having operator error.

In the app market search navoioncs and click on the one that says "purchased."

click the button purchased > than I believe it turns to OK > than to download. Click it and watch in the top bar for the circle with an arrow pointing downward. If you see it and it disappears right away odds are you had the same problem as me.

My bank stopped the charges so the download wouldn't work. Check your Gmail. you should see an email saying to verify your account CC. It also should say something about it failing to update your information. That basically is telling you your bank blocked google and navionics.

Check your bank to see if your charges for 13.59$ has gone through(should also be a charge for like 1.00 from google). If it hasn't odds are the bank is stopping it. call them and tell them to accept those charges. Depending your bank you should be able to download it after about 15 minutes to 1 hour.

Remember after downloading it, it is a good idea to pull your battery and do a soft reset, or turn your phone off for 15-30 seconds. Also remember to turn WiFi off before using the app or it will crash.

I had that problem also with my Iphone. I had to do the updates to my Iphone before I could download Navionics to it. You might want to try that and see if that works. The download to update my Iphone took a while because I hadn't plugged in my phone to my computer in a while.

Check for an email from google market (I think that is what it is called). When I entered all my stuff initially I had to verify information with my card by clicking on a link in an email before it would successfully load.

If you have done this step already, go into your apps and see if it is listed there as installed. If you cannot open it, uninstall and then go to marketplace and reinstall.

you will not be charged again.

anyone know how to read PDF files on a smart phone? I would like to be able to look at lake maps from the DNR site, but they are PDF files. I have a blackberry, so not able to get navionics.
you need Adobe. You should be able to search Android marketplace for off reader and find it. My phone came preloaded with it.

    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
    • I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage.  Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.   Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
