Baffin boots/tie boots

Stoneman

Question

Think I have set my eyes on Baffin Impact boots. As i want a boot without ties and very warm. Don't like tieing and untieing every time i have to drive. Anyone know of any others like that?? What i would like to know is what socks and if i should get a size larger?? The gal at Gander recommends the larger...are tie boots warmer than slip ons??? Thanks guys

i have those impacts and love them. I usually just sport a pair of wool socks, or some sort of fancy sweat wicking blends. although some days plain ol' tube socks are good enough. them boots is warm.

Size larger? I don't know. Do this: Wear the socks you plan on wearing in the boots into the store and try them on. Buy the ones that fit.

i have the impacts also and after one season with them and i absolutely love them! they are so warm that your feet will never get cold. the big seller on these is how light they are... you would think by looking at the impacts that they would be bulky and heavy, which is not the case at all. they are extremely light! it feels like your walking on air. i have found my favorite sock to wear with them is long smart wool socks.... works like a charm

I also have baffin boots. I have had a different expirience with mine. I got them as a Christmas gift last yr, and the soles are already starting to come apart. I havne't called the company yet to see what to do about it, but it's wayy too early to already have the soles come apart! I have only used mine during deer season and ice fishing (maybe 20 times). Maybe I got a lemon, but it just doesn't sit right with me that they are already doing this...

I'll call the company and see what can be done. But, if they don't do anything about it and say tough luck, I may switch brands.

As "most" boots are now made in China, the quality seems to be lacking quite a bit.The big time shoe stores say the same thing too!!!!Maybe part of the problem lies with the fact that the material (rubber, leather, etc)isn't of a quality nature to start with.c63

Another vote for the baffins here. I got a pair of them and love them. I have had them for 6 years now and they have held up pretty well. That includes several walk in BWCAW trips not to mention all the day trips they have made. They are the only boots I can honestly say I have NEVER had cold feet in. Kinda nice to say that really.

The only downside I can find is that I cant really drive my truck with them as they are pretty bulky. I just swap them out for regular shoes when I drive.
