Oh, don't confuse my last post. I'm definitely not switching to VZ or the iphone.

I saw a report yesterday which showed that the Android OS has overtaken the iPhone. It's crazy how popular it's become in the short time it's been around.

Androids surpassed the iPhone because it is offered by all cell companies- if the iPhone were it might be a different story.

My brother has had 2 or 3 (can't remember) iPhones and he has had his iPhone 4 in for service many, many times. He said if he knew he was going to have all the problems he's had with it, he would have kept the iPhone 3 he had. I have heard so many great things about Android- I wish my Omnia was Android and not a Windows phone.

Not many, but it also lacks LTE support, whereas the other recently announced Verizon smartphones all do. It might be smart to wait for the iPhone 4G (depending on when your upgrade is due).

You are correct. I thought the same thing, but there is not much LTE other than big cities anyway, so it won't even matter for most people.

Yeah, Android has quickly caught and surpassed the iPhone. If anything the upcoming must have Verizon phone will be the Droid Bionic.

Bingo. Why even bother with the iPhone at this point. You can get a more advanced 4g Android phone very soon on Verizon. If this was 2 years ago they would have made a killing on it (I would have bought it) but its too little too late for me.

I think the EVO 4g is a good example of how there is better things out there than the iPhone. Verizon is going to offer the Thunderbolt (pretty much identical to the EVO) so they are starting the 4g stuff out on the right foot. The Bionic is even better yet and soon to follow. I think Apple might actually be behind for a change....

Looks like with the iPown coming to Verizon they will be dropping their "New Every Two" program and making you buy everything at full market price. mad I've been with Verizon for over 10 years, this may be the breaking point of seeking out a new carrier. I know I will never pay full price for a smart phone! Once my contract is up and they still have this mindframe I will be searching for a new carrier. mad

Yeah that had me a little irked too. I guess we will pay whatever the promotional price is (whatever you would pay for signing up as a new customer). So it won't be full retail but its more than what I would like to pay. I think with my upgrade a year ago I got my Droid for 30$. Now its gonna be a lot more.

Its sad cause they always have really good coverage where I like to go but I am also considering switching once my contract is up. The plans Sprint have are really tough to beat. I am just not sure if I want to sacrifice the coverage yet. We will see what the prices do in the next year or so.

I regret getting a Windows phone and not a Droid. Apps are junk on Windows phones.

I thought you had a droid? I loved my windows phone. You should look into custom ROM's. the things you can do with the windows phones are OUTSTANDING compared to androids. The only perk of androids are 1. its google stuff and 2. crazy amount of apps, but realistically most the android apps are stupid and lame. the windows apps all have a purpose for what they do.
