Mathews Z family-2011 WOOO

So i checked out the mathews site yesterday and they have the new bows out for 2011. And all their commercials on the new ones, Im going with the Z7 extreme, gets into the tight quarters better with darn near the same speed as the originl Z7 for the same price as the Z7 and the only difference is the Extreme is 28" at the limbs instead of 30". What do you guys think...

Shot it yesterday. Nice bow but does 2" really make that much of a difference? The bows I can't wait to get my hands on is the EZ7 and the Z9. 8 3/4" brace height shooting 312fps. Thats pretty darn good if you ask me.

Ya there still nice looking I was playing with a z7 extreme the other day and cant find any benefits of that over my z7 i got know. Its nice knowing the 2010 model bow i bought cant be improved much so they tweak the name and call it a 2011 model

I seen that too, I was thinking about upgrading from the Drenalin. I like it alot, I will bring it in and shoot the new ones next to it to see if its worth it. I will also see if I get a gainshare check this year.

Ive noticed that too like I said the only difference really is its smaller by 2" and I think the rise is a little different. Kinda liked the magnum but I dont think I need it...

Nothing too great that makes me want to trade in my Drenalin. I'd probably just get a Z7 for a discount if anything at all. Next year will be big change year.

Cant agree more with sticknstring. Save alot of money and get the same thing. Seems as though mathews is struggling to make up new bows.

I agree with ya schmoe147, it seems like alot different tiny modifications rather then a new bow concept. But I guess they have to start somewhere and to start with minor adjustments for guys who want something a tad bit different isnt a bad way to go about it.

Gentleman, I'm no expert on bows but have been shooting Mathews for 10+ years and had over a dozen of them... This is how they have done it for many years. Something new followed by either a shorter or longer version depending on what the market trend is. MQ1 followed by MQ32, Q2 followed by SQ2, Drenelin followed by DXT or vise versa (can't remember order on that one) you get the picture. Not that they can't come up with anything new, just how they have run their business for years. It takes time to develop and prove new products. You want a new bow, shoot them all as you may fall in love with something else. Take a look at the new Hoyt, one hell of a bow from the looks of it and honesty, in my opinion the only company out there that holds a candle to Mathews in the whole picture of building a high quality product and backing it up with good customer support.

Sorry for the long response just get frustrated when this type of thing comes up time and again...

so the next bow will come with laser guided heat seeking arrows, with a built in grunt call and video camera..... did i miss anything...oh and a mp3 player

The more changes a company has to make with their bows each year means what they were originally offering wasn't that good to begin with. A little tweek here and there is all you should need to do.

I'm thinking next year will be a 350 fps solocam pushing 7" brace height 34" long.

At least that's what I'm dreaming for. Would be about the only way to get me to replace my Monster.

Im going with the Z7, I gotta guy down here that will sell it for $800 with sight and rest and thats straight from the archery place so Its band new and its got the warranty... Not bad just had to look around and research.

That's a good deal. As of now, I've got my pick between the Z7 & the eZ7. Extreme is too short and I don't like the short brace on the Mag. Z9's still in the running too.

Finally a couple bows that are made for the LD shooters, DR9 and the MR7.
