Night trails

Anyone care to make a guess what created these night trails? Had a wonderful full moon Friday night with calm winds so I had to take a few shots.

#8 If you haven't figured it out here is what made the light trails.

In addition to flying the real thing I also enjoy RC flying. The bracket you see on the float is for mounting an on board video camera. I have a number of in-flight videos that have been shot using a key fob video camera this fall. The above shots were shot at 10 pm at night with a full moon over Medicine Lake. I set up my camera and tripod and used 20second exposures and made landing passes at the camera. With lights mounted on the airplane and the reflected city and moonlight it made for an enjoyable night of flying!

Originally I thought it was boats, but then couldn't imagine boats being driven that crooked. After a few photos, I noticed the trails headed into the horizon and I've never seen boats fly. That's when I figured they had to be from a float plane. I was a passenger in one in Alaska a long time ago. It's really cool landing on the water.

These are some really cool shots. I'm glad you posted the exposure time.
