RumRiverRat
Elwood, Nate Larson, Mudslinger and a few others on here know that I live for divers 2 feet off the deck screaming down a diver line. After fighting for years with tangled diver lines and coming up with what I though was a good solution 3 years ago.I have be shown what I think is the easiest way to dump a large spread in the water in a short time. The initial investment to use this method is high, but I am confident that the time and hassle saved will most definitely be worth it.I purchased 2 of the Rig Em Right Deluxe Gang Rig kits, these are a comprehensive kit made of quality components. The kit comes with a line winder which is nothing special. The key to the new method which I call "The Slot Bag Method" is using 12 slot duck decoy bags. I purchased the Avery 12 slot Full Body Duck Decoy Bags. What I did was cut the main line to length and stretch it out in my yard.I attached the droppers to the decoys.I am using lines that are roughly 60 to 75 feet long, with a dozen decoys you get 5 to 6 foot spacing. After attaching the decoys to the line you need to bag the decoy, dropper and line with everything still rigged together.Hard to really describe with words, should have taken video/pics when I did this. Will do it again and take video. What you do is start with the first decoy that will be closest to the blind( I call it the head end). Take the end of the main line and put it in the first slot in the bag, feed the main line, dropper and the decoy head down into the slot.Continue Feeding the main line into the slot until you get roughly half way to the next dropper at this point you start feeding the main line and the next dropper into the next slot then put the decoy head up in the slot, continue this pattern until you have all the lines and decoys in the bag.I am storing the anchor line in the side pouch.I put the first decoy head down so I know which decoy to start with.To deploy just grab the end of the line and attach the anchor line, drop it in the water and use the wind or motor to move the boat. All you should have to do is grab the next decoy and drop it in the water, just lift it from the bag and keep the main line and dropper below the decoy and drop the decoy in the water. After practicing this a few time you should be able to deploy a line of 12 decoys in a couple minutes at most. Will be running this system this morning and will post a video tutorial later today. Gordie
Have not got around to it. Been to busy killing ducks. What day was that I will be makeing the rig like I was telling you about that mounts right to the blind but it will be a winter/spring project unless I can free up some time between now and the end of season but If i have that kinda time I'll be duckin.. I like the concept RRR and you got me thinking of a few differnt ways to do it. one would be simalar to mutha goose's winder but I think I'll use a garden hose reel and a cordless drill motor and a foot switch to reeel it in and it'll be mounted on the seat mount rod on the front of he boat. I'm also thinking of an idea to have the main line fall into a piece of pvc pipe and then when you deploy it it would come out easier... but this is still in the developmnt stage... CrappieKiller01
i have used this same method last two years works really good. sometimes you can even get lucky and just tip bag on its side and pull on one end and they all come out perfect. key word sometimes

Walleye Guy
I'm not a fan of gang rigging but recently started using the Rig em Right individual weight system. It works unbelievabley well. An expensive solution but worth every dime. I'll be converting all my decoys in the off season. No decoy bags, no tangles. no knots, no issues. Depending on how much weight you need you can buy some BIG saltwater egg sinkers and tie then up yourself for quite a bit less. A bit of work but much cheaper.
