So i just caught this muskie a few days ago and today i was looking at the spinnerbait and realized it had huge scratches on the lead head already(bought new just before i caught it). could it be possible that a this muskie could have bitten into the lead?...

heres the muskie

If it simply bit down on it there'd only by 1 or 2 marks. More than likely during the fight the lead was moving around in the mouth and getting nicked on the teeth.

It really doesn't matter though, a bass sized spinnerbait is no match for a large esox. Unless you get really lucky or are using heavy wire spinnerbaits they'll be toast. It'll come out looking worse than if you had rocketed it into a bridge deck (it looked like it was going to make it under).

I have double cowgirls ($25 a pop)thats been trashed by 1 fish. Recently seen a harness on a big ruber bait destroyed by a fish not once but twice, mag bulldawgs shredded ( I do my part to keep Spike It and Mend it going strong) 5/0 and 7/0 hooks mangled, split rings straightened out or completely ripped off, reels destroyed on a hit trolling, rods broke in multiple pieces on boatside strikes. Times like these are why I spend 100 days a year hunting muskies....... to see what they destroy next grin

I thought about starting a thread for pictures of mangled, chewed up lures; thought it might be interesting to see what some of the guys have lying around. Haven't had a chance to muskie fish much yet, but I've got a few that the big pike have done a number on.
