Yes Pier, we are hurting bad in the pitcher department. Could be a rough road ahead and a rough weekend against Texas.

Lets hope for the bats to really come alive and some good defensive support for our pitchers.

The one call up I wish they would make is Brock Peterson a 1st baseman power hitter. With Morneau nursing this concussion that has lasted longer that it should and Kubel hurtin now move Cuddy to RF and Peterson at 1b.

For his first game, he did a darn good job. Just what the doctor ordered.

Agreed. He went deeper into innings than I thought he would, and pitched a quality start. What more can you ask from a guy, against the Texas line up, in his first MLB start?

Not what I'd call overpowering, but he hit his spots and his slider really drops down and in on right handers. Lot's of ground ball outs, too.

So what is our pitching situation as we sit?

I know Pavano is healthy, as well as Liriano. Which ones out of Blackburn, Slowey, Baker, and Duensing are ready to go and healthy?

I looked into it and it appears that Blackburn starts today (Sunday) and Slowey on Monday (coming off the DL list). Then Liriano and probably Duensing.

So I wonder how long Baker will be out...anyone heard anything?
