never to early for suckers IMO. Its all in your presentation thou I would fish deep with big bucktail jigs tipped with those suckers drifting or trolling them along.

That's my sure-fire method, it seldom fails. I like Roadrunner jigs for lakes with average sized pike, but Northland Bionic Bucktail jigs if I'm in Trophy waters. Easy and fun, hook the sucker through the head, slow troll the deep weed edges and hold on! I like keeping it about 2-3 ft. off the bottom and let it bump it every now and then. The best part is that in the dog days when it's hard to keep minnows alive, the dead ones work just as good as the live ones as long as you're moving.
