@NTW - I had a 38-40" muskie hit a buzzbait about two weeks ago just south of Minnesota Island, but didn't hook him. Pike have been SUPER active in Steamboat Bay the last couple of weeks. Nothing huge, but I've caught & released several right around 30" while fishing for bass.

Where do you stay when you come up? Maybe we can join forces and compare notes.

That's cool, you at least got to see the muskie. I've never had any hit while bass fishing...Like many fisherman I have caught bass while chasing muskie.

We're out on pine point and usually do some bass fishing in the northern bays of the lake. I've tried some other areas with marginal luck. I'd definitely be interested in joining up to go after some bass.

NTW - email me kawj at arvig dot net and hopefully we can get out some time around Labor Day.

Cecil - it was in Steamboat Bay (I live on the west side just north of Anderson's Cove Resort), but it was right in the middle of the bay. There's kinda like a "point" of wild rice that sticks out of the main bed, and the wind had been blowing hard into it for a couple days, so I gave it a shot and they were pretty willing to hit there.

I fished up closer to the river mouth on Sat & Sun, and caught lots of pike but not a lot for bass. Feel free to email me if you want company...I'll take any excuse to go fishing smile
