Black Deer?

How would you like to see this in your trail cams a friend sent it to me dont know the story of it but its suposed to be a black deer oppisite of an albino

I received an email with that pic a couple of weeks ago. I do not know the "supposed" history of it.

It is a melanistic deer. It is rare but not unheard of for a deer to show the melanistic trait. If a person does a common internet search for melanistic deer I am sure they will come up with a number of stories or pictures. I recall seeing an article on North American Whitetail about them at one time.

This deer is probably from Louisiana. I'm sure it's just covered in oil.
