InTheNorthwoods Posted August 18, 2010 Share Posted August 18, 2010 It is a melanistic deer. It is rare but not unheard of for a deer to show the melanistic trait. If a person does a common internet search for melanistic deer I am sure they will come up with a number of stories or pictures.
