ditto. Ive been thinking hunting/ice fishing for the past few weeks. I guess all this heat is making dream of cooler northerly winds grin I have to agree tho last year was kinda a bust for us too. Oh and it cant be too early since game fair is going on and cabelas is getting in there waterfowl gear and out on the floor.

Went to the Game Fair yesterday and listened to Scott Thrienen, Barney Calef, and talked to "Big" Sean Hammock there. He is a friend of a fellow hunter we hunt with.

Man, can those guys work there calls! It's good to get advise from the best! grin

I realize it's early but Im getting the itch already which is remarkable considering last year was such a bust. I will be counting down the days.

I normally get that feeling just after ice out watching the ducks start to come back and tallying the new species that I've seen arriving.

Wheres the hunters in the pics.? nice piles. I cant wait for the snows to show up and see if they had the big hatch they predicted, should make for a great year.

They had a HUGE hatch according to the our guide in Manitoba. A good friend of his works for the Canadian version of our DNR and he said it will be a very good year (the number of juvenile birds is WAY up). Supposedly they did not "drag" the nesting grounds this spring (good for this year but not good for the future). I don't know if I should be happy or sad about this???
