1afteranother
I just moved here and am currently working just north of brookings. I am just wondering where there is a good place to site in a few guns and to just shoot in general. I am used to shooting every day down in CO where we were working last and not being able to shoot up here is killing me. I just bought a new rifle this week and cant find a place to site it in as well.Any help would be greatThanks,
sdpikehntr
Not sure where you are, but here we just find a private gravel pit and ask the owner if we can use it for target practice. We are always sure to clean up afterwards, and we have to make our own tagets, but it works. In that area I'm sure there are several pits that are not being used right now, just drive around and look for them with the plat book in hand. BlueLundFishrman
Used to be able to do it at Beacon Hill, a range NW of Brookings. I think you have to go with someone who is a member, but not 100% sure on that. Check at Gas N' Mor, go during the day, Gary or Scott might know who you need to contact. BlueLundFishrman
Another spot is there is some public land across the road to the north of the parking lot of the Lake Region Golf Course between Lakes Poinsett and Albert (about 30 miles NW of brookings). creepworm
There is a professional looking rifle range 30 miles west of Brookings on hwy 14 just west of Tyler MN. Don't know any details but I drive by it when I go home from school.
Rost
South about 15-20 miles on old 77 (just north of colman) there is a place to sight in a rifle. It's far from a professional range, but it does have a bench. It looks to be public to me, but I am not sure.
