friz
Wondering if anyone has any experience with this new model yet. Nobody seems to know alot about them. I've got some I-40's and like them but the price on these seem pretty cheap. Just worried that its the old "get what you pay for deal"...... HeviShot
We sell these at the store I work for and I have had a chance to play with them a little bit. Only two problems with the camera is battery life, and if the subject is moving in the picture it gets a little blurry.
Boar
Those two things arnt good. Kinda the two most important next to trigger speed. Clarity is kinda big, my moultrie 6.0 captured a bear jumping into the tree I sprayed grease up in an it caught the bear in mid jump, a little blurry but that was moving pretty fast for any camera. mudslinger64
well we will see,if it performs poorly it will be going back.it is on a tree right now.
friz
Finally got e-mail back from company, they say about 1000 pictures from set of batteries and less than 1 second trigger speed. see how that compares to the real deal.

Code-Man
I purchased one last night. I put it out without playing with it first. Bought a 4 gig flash drive but the card did not want to read correctly. Afraid the new card is full which i opened the package in the woods or it didn't like the format. Will be out in two weeks to check and probable bring Trace Mineral Salt blocks. Thought I was going out solo so didn't want to grab lots of weight with 3 trail cameras and 3 salt blocks thought that was enough for one trip. BLACKJACK
I've got a Moultrie D55 IR, been out on the tree about 3 weeks. This is my third Moultrie but first IR camera. Simple to use, like other Moultrie cameras. Trigger speed seems good. IR pictures are ok at best, kind of fuzzy if the deer is moving, but you CAN tell if its a buck or doe. Battery life has been good so far, batteries are still at +90% - and thats the whole point of a IR camera, saving battery life, so I guess I can put up with the not as high quality IR pictures. I made some inquiries regarding plugging a cord into the external jack and then attaching to a 12 volt battery but I got conflicting reports and didn't want to fry the camera, so I think I'll wait to see how the battery life is. Going to pull my SD card this week, I'll report back.
mudslinger64
well i went and got the camera after work and here is what was on it.the first one i was bending over a piece of brush so it was out of the way and not even an hour later look who is sniffing the spot. i took the camera out with me to move to another spot,a guy i work with was driving by another area i hunt and told me about a big buck he saw there this morning on the way to work at least a 10 he said.the funny thing about it is he doesn't know i even hunt right there so i will be putting it out tomorrow. Jimmy from Cottage Grove
I have two moultrie cameras and I went to radio shack and bought a plug and I hooked it up to my vexilar battery. I left it out for almost five months last season without charging it. It didn't seem to affect the camera at all. It worked great. So I am looking to get a few new cameras this year. I have never used IR before. What are the advantages disadvantages? Thanks Jimmy
Code-Man
Checked my cameras last night. THe I 55 did not record. Switched out the SD card with another one and that one didn't work either. I'm taking it into scheels today to find out what is going on. Other two cameras worked just fine. One got a coyote sneaking along the edge of the field and the other caught the applicator spraying the field so kinda cool to see.

Code-Man
Took my camera in on Friday. The salesmen played with it no luck...put my batteries and SD card in the display and it instantly worked. Switched out the camera and I'm having a buddy put it out for me today if it's not too muddy out there. Hopefully will have proof of how well or bad it works in a few weeks!
