Rapala's made in Finland?

Depends on how many dependents you have. It'll take a long time before enough have been tossed to make the few that are left valuable, and who knows whether anyone will even know what they are 50 years from now. Put them in the trunk of your 57 Chev and your great great grandkids will love you for it.

If they are truly Finnish made raps then I would venture to say that you could retire them. They are low end collectables depending on the condition that they are in. If you have the boxes and/or the intsructions sheets for them then they jump in value. The value of the lure is driven by how beat up the exterior is. If nothing else they make nice conversation pieces. Locally there are collectors clubs that can give you a better idea of the worth but off the top of my head I'd say that you are probably looking at 3-5 dollars, less then what the new ones sell for right now. New in the box with instructions your probably looking at the 10-15 dollar range depending on the condition of the plug.

Most new ones are made in Estonia but I believe some are still made in Finland.

Rapalas where/are mass produced baits and Im sure their is not a shortage of Rapalas that were made in Finland. It would probably take a long time to see any type of value put on them over and above the price of a new bait. I agree with Tunrevir, unless the bait is mint and has a package in good condition its probably not setting aside.

The older ones seem to work better for me. In the original floater model the older ones are not as rounded of a finnish on top of the lure. Dont konw why but walleyes like the older ones better it seems.

Rumor has it that lures from Finland have a little ruisleipa (rye bread) baked into each lure; the ones from Estonia have verivorst (blood sausage) baked into theirs; to deny walleyes that rye bread taste could spell disaster in the livewell...JK(ok, a little early for bad jokes, I admit).

I would probably keep a couple that are in nice shape and then use the rest. No point in having good lures sit and collect dust when they could be getting chewed on by hungry fish.

Finland and Estonia are like Minnesota and Wisconsin. Not much difference. At least they are not made in China.
