Detroit Lakes area

have the night off finally on wed and thurs planning on hitting up the detroit lakes area. Wondering which lakes would be the best and which lakes have muskies in never fished the area. any info would be helpful..especially a smaller lake cause its looking a little windy those days.

Hey Slayer -

Big Detroit, Big Pelican and West Battle are the main lakes in the area. Depending on the wind direction you can usually find places to hide, and the wind can be a big help on all three in terms of fish activity.

umm, good old Detroit Lakes has some monsters in there! I think that might be the only lake in the DL area with muskies.

Ummm... no. See RK's post above. There are others too, but generally with lower fish densities in them.

Plenty slow in the DL area right now. Might wanna check out West Battle.

If you need a smaller lake, Beers in Maplewood State park is worth a shot. Otherwise, Big Detroit is where I would go, Easy Lake to fish..
