Problems getting Yamaha parts??

Brother has rig very similar to mine. Ran his Yamaha 115 (2002 model) totally dry of fuel. Dealer/mechanic says that likely ruined the pressure fuel pump and he should NOT have done it. Okay, I'll go with that. I assume pump gets its lubrication from fuel going through it. No fuel=no lube. No lube....no seals/washers etc. This was two weeks ago. We are being told Yamaha parts are very hard to come by. None in Minneapolis. to repair/replace pump. Boat is sitting. Season is just starting.

I have a strong hunch I can get on the phone and have a part in here overnight. What do you think?

Hard for me to beleive!! Drantels in St. Peter or Action sports in Marshall (another one in Faribault but can't remember the name) all will have parts sent right to your house if you pay for it over the phone. I've done it quite a few times when it's something I can fix myself.

Follow up to my original post. Got the part just a little delayed. New injection pump parts-don't know the total cost of repairs yet.

Filled tank with 25 gals. Premium. Fired up and eased out of slip....engine missing and hunting at low speed. Wound right up to 5000 and ran down the lake. When I throttled back to low speed and idle it running like it is too leaned out.

I am just a teensy-weensy bit %%^^&*$%^ !!!

Yep, same engine. New plugs and new injectors. Old gas drained. New fuel filters. Passed $1 grand a week ago. Runs fine up at speed 5000-6000 RPM. Makes no sense to me, but then I am not an expert on these big outboards. Has been a jewel for the past six years and I only use it maybe 15 hours a summer.

I hate to ask a silly question or two but here goes....

Are there any sensors that could be screwed up? Mass airflow, throttle position, etc? and

Is it possible to read anything off the computer to see if it thinks anything is goofy?

I was just wondering, since it seems ok at high speed but not at idle, about how it knows how much gas to shoot in.

Could be any of the above. But it came back from the mechanic with all the new stuff and all the diagnostics etc. blah blah blah.

Hate to say it but am beginning to worry about my Battle Lake Boat guy. Will run the $%#$% out of it IF the weather ever gets nice again! Ha!!
