anybody smoke any bass?? I've just started smoking fish and wondered if it was worth the effort??

I'm 100% sure it'd be delicious. Bass is good eating.

Just don't take too many of them please, they take years to get size on 'em.

They smoke whitefish and tullibies and they are great so I'm sure bass would be good. It would be a good way to do them. I have even tried smoked carp and it was decent.

We eat smallmouth in the bwca and it was as good as the walleye. I still think the best eating fish is blue gill followed by perch.

Bass is good smoked. My family had a cabin on a small lake that only had bass and northerns in it. Both of them are good smoked. If you smoke northern you need to deslime them before soaking in brine.

I forgot to say that I prefer smallmouth to largemouth, and cold water is always preferred.

never heard of that----------what is "desliming"--I always wash mine throughly before placing them in the brine solution

I quit smoking about 5 years ago, never tried a Bass, aren't they a little hard to keep lit??? LOL!!
