How do I make my girlfriend an outdoor woman?

Ladies I need your help here.

My girlfriend is a complete city girl. She doesn't really have any interest in the outdoors and I am trying to change that. The farthest I have gotten is getting her to ride on and drive my fourwheeler a little bit and go for a walk on the ice last winter. She said she will come out in the boat only if I keep any fish far away and out of her sight. I want her to try the things I enjoy but I'm not being very successful.

Any advice?

I have to agree with those who say not to force it on them. My daughter who expressed some fascination with fishing when she was young really made me excited at the thought of us fishing together. Well, as she got older the fishing wasn't as important and became not fun for her. I tried to "force" it onto her and that didn't work. Now as a young adult whenever she visits and wants to go out fishing who am I to say no. I think she enjoyed the time when she was younger and she can say that she "knows" how to fish or can identify fish. All I know is that whenever she goes she always catches fish. Just memories I won't forget. Also, she is not a camper. If there are no bathroom/shower facilities forget it.

I've been married 37 years and I can get my wife to go fishing with me once every 10 years and that is just a ride along. I fish and she read a book. That's not to say she doesn't like to get outdoors. We do some river canoeing, hiking, she likes to go tubing, and we take several long weekends and a couple of weeks each year for a road trip that usually has an outdoor destination. Its no big deal for me that she doesn't like to fish and hunt. I spend about 60 days a year on a lake or ocean somewhere and that still leaves 300 plus days for her and I to have a happy marriage.

I guess you could look at it like this. Maybe she is seeking comments on another HSOforum on how to convert you to liking her favorite things to do.
