Years ago (35 or so) I worked with a woman who claimed to be from Vasa. She was a cheerleader there and taught me this cheer:

Lutefisk, lefsa, gobaloola cream (sp?)

Come on Vasa, beat that team!

I always thought it was just something she made up.

I hope all is well in the imaginary town of Vasa.

Well that sure sounds like something that would come from Vasa. Lots of Svedes around here don't ya know. Shh! Don't tell anyone, but there's a few Norwegians too.

I myself have lived here for about 35 years. I may have to ask if anyone remembers this cheer.
