Bass Lake, near Clearwater Lake in Annandale

Who's fished here before? We'll be renting a cabin on the west end of this lake in early June, I assume it'll be close to the boat launch. Just wanted to know if anyone has any pointers on where to look for largemouth and smallies too, if they have any there. I've heard that the lakes in this area are excellent for bass fishing.

if you want to fish for bass go to clearwater which is basically across the road from bass lake. Also put this thread in in the annadale/clearwater/buffalo section and you will get more replies

Bass lake is one of my favorite lakes. I grew up about a mile away, on Clearwater, and used to go over to fish it quite often. It is a small, clean lake with a good population of largemouth (no smallmouth) and quite a few pike. If you have kids, there is a solid population of smaller panfish as well. You also have the option of hopping over to Clearwater if you get bored. Enjoy your stay!

Hi Josh, how are you these days? Bass lake has a few points and turns that should hold sunfish as well as pike. The DNR has a map yo can download for reference. I would just use the standard tactics of working the weedlines til you find fish. The panfish are not particularly big, but the are always fun to catch.

There is also a shallow channel by the access that can be good in early spring, but it's probably choked shut with weeds by now.
