Lund Sportrak?

I have a 2003 Lund Alaskan that has a slot in the gunnel and I think that its for a Sportrak bracket but I thought that they started using it in 2004. Any ideas on this system and where could I get a couple of brackets?

Any Lund dealer, They're spendy about 25 bucks a piece but I like them for the fact that there is no drilling to mount extra stuff like rod holders and ram mounts.

I have found that once you figure out how to use them and how well they work you'll find out you will need more.

Yes. I wish they had the mounts when my boat was 1st purchased. My only concern would be using those mounts for dypsie diver rods. I would make sure to use some good stainelss bolts to mount the rod holder mount to the Lund mount.

I used SS bolts when I hooked mine up and they have never come loose one bit. You would like them.

I have many times used them with my trolling rods pulling cranks and have never had one bit of an issue. I realize you may place more pressure on them with the dipsy rod but I cannot see how they would not hold.

I use the RAM mounts with mine.

Ya Tom I have a few of them but big dypsies really put a lot of twist on them. I was just telling people to not just screw rod holder bases on the lund bases and to use stainelss bolts. If they do that there shouldnt be any problems. Most people will never put that much force on the bases but its better safe than sorry.

I have also used the Scotty and Ram mounts.

No, but no matter where I want to set a rod, a rod holder is there.

Its also nice when 3-4 are catfishing on the river. I can anchor the boat anyway I want and I have a rod holder in place. Easy to move if need be.

Probably a little overkill I know.

No! Seems like they are the same no matter where I look.

I have 2 in my boat for when I want to move rods around and 2 scottie flush mounts with 3 rod holder platform as well as 8 Ram flsuh mounts. Use them a lot when I can run 3 rods on Lake Superior. With 3 guys in the boat you need to be able to space out them board/dypsie rods.

Northlander,

The best price I found was at the dealer I bought my Explorer from.

They want 25.00 for them, but I have heard here in the cities they can be almost 30.00 a piece. Might have to run to perham when I am in Alex in 2 weeks and pick up about 4 more.
