StCroix Ski's?

B Newt

Recommended Posts

I am planning on fishing the StCroix a bit this summer via Kayak. I am thinking about dropping in south of Taylors falls and fishing my way down to Afton. Any areas anyone would recommend, not asking for your honey hole just some general areas. Feel free to PM me.

I've got a buddy who has fished that section of the river and generally speaking, he's really struggled. He's a pretty reasonable stick and he's convinced that the population density of skis in that stretch is relatively low.

Sorry, not the report you were looking for, but that's the little I know...

Good luck!

Ya ... them big cruisers can put out some monster wakes. My Brother in law had a ski nail a walleye he hooked up in an area south of Tailers Falls. So they are there, just may not be large numbers as Scoot says. Worth trying ... great scenery around there and no big boats to worry about.

+ 2 The hunt for big fish with Larry Dahlberg covered this topic, review the episode (versus channel) and you should be able to tell where they were catching ski's he was fishing with josh stevenson of blue ribbon bait, so maybe a day in the boat with him will get you a better start. Good luck
