I'm not sure about the Elite 5, but with the HDS units you adjust Panel Sizes on the Pages screen and you need to hit the menu button to get to that option. It works fine, it's just not a very intuitive way to get there in my opinion. Maybe the Elite-5 is the same???

Went on Lowrances site to check out the operation manuals, couldn't find anything about adjusting the panel size on either the Mark-5 or the Elite-5. Went to the HDS-5 and it was in there so assuming the other two don't have that option.

Glad this came up as I was considering one of them when they became available. But I to would like the map side a little larger thats the way I run my 522. I was looking at the Elite-5 for the bow. Now I'll probably go with an Eagle to save a little money (don't need all that HDS stuff).

I agree that's a miss if theres no option to resize. Otherwise the elite 5 looks like a decent unit. Not a huge $$ jump to the HDS 5 though.

One thing I do like about the "pages" thing on the HDS is that there is a sonar + GPS or a GPS + sonar. You can set one up with larger sonar and the other up wiht larger GPS. Handy feature because I find that there are times when I want one or the other.

Gander in Fargo has them in and up on display to test, many other Ganders will also have them in now too.

Shipments were slow getting out from Lowrance to retailers. Should be in now for most all stores, or sometime this week.

When reading the brochure for the Elite and Mark units it seem to be possible to store GPS and sonar data on the SD-card (the brochure describes that it shall be possible to store 'sonar graphs recordings' and 'fishfinder & navigation data' on the SD-card. See http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Brochures/ ).

This feature was one of the reasons for me buying Elite-5 since I have plans for making bottom maps for the lake I'm fishing at.

But when I have the unit in my hand I can not see any option to store this type of information, the only things that are possible to store on the SD-card are waypoints, tracks and trails. Have I missed something?

I have tried figure out if the trail logging contains depth data as well as the GPS positions, but it looks like depth is not included.

Could this type of features be included in a software update later on?

Btw, it is not possible to adjust the split screen sizes at the moment...

Rippin_eyes....I hope you can clear this up for us.

The new LakeMaster Insight 2010 with the SD/Micro SD does it now work with the Lowrance Endura, Out&Back, and Sierra line, or does it to require a new update first?

I ask because we tried the new 2010 LakeMaster Insight MN card in an Sierra, and it wouldn't load for us, but maybe we missed something?

I'm used to LakeMaster chips opening up automatically in my personal Garmin handheld GPS and Garmin marine sonar/gps units, so if there is a separate setting we missed, be a bud and clue me in please.

Thanks,
