Fire!!!!!

Was coaching a golf meet tonight when smoke appeared to the west, followed by fire sirens and soon by these bad boys. Almost felt like I was sitting in the Pacific during WWII.

There were two of these guys circling the area as spotters:

Before too long this water plane showed up:

Finally the big boy made an appearance:

Early on a copter came in and out a couple of times, but was in the thick smoke and I never got a shot of it.

Cool shots. I would imagine for as dry as it and the time of year they were not going to mess around and try to get the fire out asap.

Cool Shots Ken!! Looks like a SEAT (single engine air tanker) and the P3-Orion (brought in for more air support this year to help out the 2 CL215s)

Its been a pretty wild fire season so far and with not much moisture in the forecast its only going to get worse. I have been working with the WI DNR here and its tough to keep up some days!

Great series! That third image is really sweet, what a cool looking plane, first time I've seen one that looked like that, thanks for sharing. Hope we get some rain soon.
