The 334c has an internal antenna - it's a first-generation internal antenna unit and the shielding was not good enough and caused interference which caused the unit to not hold a signal all that well.

The 332c has an external antenna and holds the signal well, you shouldn't have any problems with that gps. It might be hard to find an antenna for it now though.

The 337 and 339 were dual frequency versions of the 332 and 334 --- the gps in the 337 will be the same as the gps in the 332, and the gps in the 339 will be the same as the gps in the 334.

Can only speak for myself but I use my 334 in my boat, truck and snowmobile and fourwheeler in the winter and have never have a issue with losing a GPS signal. But have had issues with it holding bottom signal on the sounder part of it when I updated the software. Solved that problem by reinstalling the earlier software for summer use.
