Great Blue Heron

We finally had some sun on a day when I could get out, so over lunch I went to a local wetlands and was rewarded with a nice flyby from a heron:

It's too bad I chopped off his feet in this one, it was landing on top of a pole and got to close for 500mm and I wasn't prepared to zoom out.

Real nice shots. I especially like the last one, due to the nice lighting. I should have some to post soon. I'm taking a friend out to an area heron rookery in the morning. They are a cool bird.
