Power Pro Color

For those of you who use Power Pro for walleye fishing, what color do you use? I have always used the green for MN lakes. I see they have a red colored line and of course the yellow. When lindy rigging, I use Power Pro for my main line and a flouro leader. I wouldn't think that color would matter in that case. But I do use Power Pro directly for cranking and sometimes for jigging. I have always used 15lb for all applications.

I only use the green color now.

I had a reel with red power pro on it and when it was new the dye in the line stained the cork on the rod --- plus my hands. I've never used the yellow.

But, as long as you use a fluoro leader, the power pro color shouldn't matter unless you want the high visibility color for bite detection.

I use power pro for mostly everything but jigging. when jigging I have seen mono and floro outfish green power pro 10 to 1 and thats why. In most cases line color doesn’t matter but I have seen it make a difference too, but personally I don’t think yellow to green makes much difference. Just my 2 cents. And I agree with perch that the red dye is nasty! and mike with the super small diameter I would go at least 10 pound, even 15 in some cases.

I use the PP 1/8 high vis yellow on my jigging rod.I love the extra sensitivity with it, plus i can see hits that i don't feel. I don't think the color hurts, since much of the water i fish has some color to it.( i do plan on trying a flouro leader this year to see if it makes a difference)

I think you will notice a difference, I use a floro leader in all my set ups and I start out about as long as the pole it's on, longer if it's a lindy rig, then when it gets down to a couple of feet from break off's bad knots whistle or what ever I just start over. I still use the green mainly since I haven't worn it out yet grin

ellroy2....I used the green all last year. The only draw back for me was not being able to see the line in the low light times of the day. I plan on helping these old eyes this year by going to the yellow. That being said, I'm really pleased with the line. Like some of the others I do use a flouro leader in all my set ups.........

Eigth or ten # will be good. I would recomend using flouro instead of mono for leader material.( a little more abrasion resistant, less stretch, and refracts light almost the same as water)

Now! This is my opinion!! grin A back to back uni not will work for connecting the two lines. But after playing with knots the other day, i feel the blood knot is a little smaller/smoother, and slides thru the guides easier.
