Coyote Breeding Season Question

Recommended Posts

I'm not a coyote hunter, so I'm posting a question here. When I was outside tonight around 8, the coyotes were yelping up a storm in the river bottoms. Sounded like there was 20-30 of them. Is it breeding season?

I was on my way home yesterday and spotted 2 coyotes on a small lake. As I watched them the one would run with its tail between its legs and then lay down as the other one would run up behind it. I watched them for about 15 min work there way accross the lake. I think it was a male and female and she was in heat. Man I wish I had my .204 in the truck that day!! 150 yrds away with nothin but my binocks. Could have been a nice double.

You been having any luck calling Walleye12?? Was out west for a few days about 2 weeks or so ago and nothing worked, saw lots, but they were just not intrested. They are really moving around home the last few days.

Its been tough, been only picking up 3-5 dogs a weekend. I have been using different sounds, they seem to wanna commit but dont fully commit! We have been doing alot of spot and stocking also. We have been taking alot further shots then years past.

Yeah dunno what was wrong. We were going to head out last week, but its been raining, so i think its done for the year.

We also tried some different sounds, but the one that worked good back at home we didn't try while i was out there, go figure. Yeah i got one at 530 steps, missed it standing at about 350 first though.
