I have one, and like it very much. I like the fact that you can see the fish come towards your bait by watching the line on the graph.

It also has a flasher type option. I use the split screen with zoom on half.

Have you had any issues with this, I was thinking of getting this, Not that I need it we already have a few vex's, enough for everyone who is going out that day to have one for themself. But would like it for the winter/summer deal.

Can't speak for using it for ice fishing, but I've had one on my boat for the last 2 years and as of now it is pretty much junk. It is mounted in the bow with the transducer on the bottom of the trolling motor so I'm sure there is a little added vibration, but I've swapped out transducers and had no luck. Not the first Lawrance graph to go belly up either. I'm going with a bird this summer, hopefully a little better luck. Just my 2 cents though, I'm sure others have had better luck.

The only issue I have had with it was interference with another vex in the house. That was a small issue after we figured out what settings were needed on each unit to make them both work together. After that, all worked out. We both knew what settings to put them at the next time we went out fishing together.

I also purchased the transducer for the boat. Works great summer fishing, and finding great dive locations.

I could use one for parts, I melted the shell (warped) it like 5 years ago, its still actually working, and it is my backup flasher, but still.. If you wanna get rid of it for nothing or next to nothing I could use it, thanks Chad.

Chad, shoot me an email: bflat0104@hotmail

I'll try to summerize my problems. First year it worked great, I was even able to use it watching lakers come up and slam a jig and walleyes hit a jig on the bottom while in openwater. Brought it in over the winter so it wasn't in cold storage. Hooked it up last year and it worked fine for the first couple of weeks of the season, then started with the issues. Wouldn't read anything, the screen would skip as it would scroll, or even seemed like the pixels would not separate as much as they should, in other words it would be blocky. The sensitivity went haywire, on auto sensitivity it would be so sensitve the screen would basically be all colored, if I manually turn the sensitivity down it had to be so low it wouldn't read anything. Get into deeper water over about 20 ft would cause it to lose the bottom or spike the range and give me a reading of 100 ft, or some other depth that was not right. I could turn the sensitivity up to lock it back on the bottom, but then you couldn't see anything. I do have another graph at the counsel with the transducer in the back and that definitely caused increased interference, but even with that unit off, this one still had major issues.

Now these problems didn't all happen everytime, but it eventually got to the point where there was at least one issue all the time. I did try doing the resets as well and like I said, I switched out the transducer, neither of which helped.

Maybe I've just been unlucky with this unit and for the most part they are good, but when you spend $250+ you expect it to last longer than a year and a half. If it worked all the time like it did the first year, i would have been very happy.

I love mine. I can use it for summer and winter. It has treated me very well for the last 3 years. I don't have problems using it with a vex. I have a Ram Mount that I use for it in the summer on my boat with a suction cup transducer. I am very pleased with the performance and many guys that fish with "vex's" like the fact that you can see a better representation of your jigging action with the graph.

I really like mine. Have had one for 3 years now. No issues. Love the fact you can switch between pages- graph or flasher. Actually, I never use the flasher mode. The history of the graph is the only way to go, imo. I used to rig up other summer graph locators to use on the ice. Have always loved the history- let's me see the fish moving up and down.

I'm another x67 user.

I often fish next to a FL-8 with minimal problems. I won't go so far to say we're both 100% but I'd consider any issues a minor annoyance at worst. As far as settings go, here is a good place to start;

- ping speed = 100%

- scroll speed = high

- noise rejection = high

- surface clarity = high

- auto depth = off

- auto-sensitivity = off

- sensitivity = I start around 85-90% an adjust according to depth and lure size

If I'm by myself, I'll turn the noise rejection & surface clarity down a bit. I always use the graph & hate the flasher screen.

The only issue I've had with mine is the digital depth readout will fluctuate sometimes causing the flasher screen to jump around. However, as mentioned, I don't use the flasher mode and this doesn't affect performance in graph mode at all.

Ditto jdsmi's opinion & settings.

Had several years now and enjoy it. This is what I like:

Got new for $199, bought small 12v battery w/ charger on sale.

Can use on both hard/soft water.

Nice to have history, split screen, zoom, set-depth options.

Quiet, no noise once ducer is submerged.

Low energy consumption, goes long time on a charge.

Has temp for summer.

May not be the cat's meow for all guys but I've been quite satisfied.

I have the M68c. I love it. Not sure the difference from the 67, maybe its the GPS. I have had some issues, but I still like it. Check out the link below as. I have never resolved my interference issue, but as long as I am 10 ft away from anyone else with a flasher I am fine.

X67c = sonar only

M68c = sonar + GPS

I thought about the M68c when I bought my X67c, but the fact that it does not accept mapping chips made it pretty useless, in my mind.

Well Ralph I am quite aware of that now. When I bought the thing last year I asked about adding the lake chip and the guy, I mean kid, said that would be a good idea. He apparently was not aware that you could not (I do not feel bad for Sportman's Wharehouse because of this). I was a little ticked off about that but I have adapted and can use the gps for marking spots and finding cords. I have a decent map with grids and I have been able to locate spots that way. Still not as good as the lake chip though.

That really sucks.

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
