Dumb Question?

So I'm still fairly new to bass fishing and have to ask, how long does one keep their bags of plastic worms, swim baits before they go bad or lose their effectiveness, or better yet how often do you guys replace yours. I have a ton of bags left over from last season and was wondering if I need to restock each year?

Definitely not. Keep them in their resealable bag and they'll last years. I've heard of guys who have plastics that are 10+ years old and they still work fine. The exception is if they are stored in or exposed to extreme temps for a length of time, ie. car trunks, sheds, left outside, etc. They might deform or melt together in that case.

No need to restock those, I have plastics that are around 10 yrs old, (like Mozy's buddies) but keep stockin up! Can't have enough bait! You say your fairly new to bass fishin, try using the YUM Crawbug, and The Worm, my favorite two bass lures.

Dorque- You need to replace them all. And it has to be done a special way. Rather than type how its done, I will just do it for you.. Send them to me here in Linstrom and I will dispose of them properly.

In all seriousness, I have worms from 20 years back and would rig them up today if we didnt have this hard water problem right now. I dont think they go bad.

Thanks guys for the input I'll make sure to tell the wife that I need to re-stock every year so that I can add to the collection, I have converted my work room downstairs into a bass plastics show room, may have to put an addition onto the house to make room for the in coming supply. and Double D's I'll make sure to get the "hazardous waste" sent out right away so you can dispose of it properly. And I agree the hard water can go away soon, living in Fargo it just means sand bagging season is just around the corner!
