Ed Carlson
Sweet you got it back!! A tip for GPS security:Everyone should tag or internally ID your hand held GPS units. Most can be personalized internally in a program with your name and address, or phone number in the memory system. Garmin has it on the start up page, so if it is lost and than found the first person to turn it on will see your name and contact info right off the bat.If there is not a personalization feature on your GPS, put a name tag in the battery compartment lid so it is easily identifiable, or add a name tag to the lanyard, that is the next best thing.Only takes a minute to do, and may be the deciding factor if your going to get your unit back if lost or even stolen.Another overlooked thing is be sure to register your warranty with the manufacturer, that in itself documents it is indeed yours, many do not.Pretty straight forward, if nobody knows who it belongs to, it is harder to get it back.
