The snap cover only works on 2 blade lazer blades, will not work on 224 or strikelite.

The blade sharpener might get you a couple more holes in a pinch, but if you want your auger to cut like new for anything more than a couple of holes, get new blades. That is how the folks at D-rock spelled it out for me when I asked about sharpening lazer blades with the strikemaster sharpener.

Another option is to do the exchange directly through Strike Master. They explain it better on their HSOforum but essentially you send in your current blades and they sent you back a refurbished pair. Seemed to be about half the cost of new blades if I remember correctly.

They are not listed on the web site but they do have blade exchange for the strikelite. it is listed in their 2009-2010 customer service reference catalog on page 4. the blade exchange price is $32.95 and totaly new blades are $54.95 (page 3)

The draw type V Grove sharpener is not a good plan, they mess up more blades than they fix.

With the aid of a Lansky style bar knife sharpener you can do them yourself, as they are not a double swept angled blade like the Lazer is.

I would buy a second set, and sharpen the spare for a back-up set.

Also you are likely in need of a set of replacement Center Pounts. Not expensive, and they make a huge difference in how the Strike Lite will cut. 2 for $20
