Question

i just got one and i went out to use it tonight and it was very hard to start so i pressed the primer about 5 times and gas would leak is this normal was i priming it to much or do i have a different problem oh and priming didnt seem to help it start any better i ended up pulling about a hundred times today to drill 8 holes any advise??

No, it is not normal. You should NOT have a leak anywhere. Eskimos are great products..and should start on the 1st or second pull.. Viper engines are quite good. Both of mine always start on the 1st or 2nd pull. We could run the gamut of problems here, but bottom line is it shouldn't leak fuel. Period. Been repairing engines since the 70's... RETURN IT!

Where was it leaking from? The air filter housing?

If so, you may want to remove the filter and make sure the flexible fuel line is inserted far enough into the intake. If it isn't, all that gas will run down the side of the filter housing instead of into the carb when you press the priming bulb. I had this happen to my Eskimo Mako a couple years ago.

I'm experiencing the same problem where an oily substance is leaking from the filter housing. If I adjust that flex tube will you think that will take care of the problem. Is that oil from the gas you think then, that is leaking from the filter housing? Let me know more to try and fix the problem. Oh, and I do have the Mako also.
