Can't agree more Merk, I have seen some of there studies, they are what we have been saying all along. Spearing doesn't make an effect on Pike pop. They have some good studies out there. Putting money where it belongs, Promoting Pike populations. You have to register every Pike you take out there. This goes to studies, Pressure of spearing, what lakes are producing fish, and how to keep habitat for them. Keeps a nice log of past and present.

Kudos to North Dakota and its about time.. I hope this will have a possitive impact on our sport.

There is one thing I must add thou someone really needs to inform that dude on the vid about how to wink and that was an awfully short string on that spear. grin

I also like the fact that speacial requirments for spearing but I bet that will change in the years to come.

Yes,

They took a very conservative approach to opening up darkhouse spearing. By looking at real data without a bias, year after year they see darkhouse spearing for what it is, a wonderful sport that can coexist with angling without endangering the resource. They are opening up more and more lakes every year. That says allot.
