Punch skirts

Anybody use these yet? If so, how effective are they? How do you like to rig them, etc.?

Did a little playing with them last fall.. Do they work.. Sure why not.. Depends on what you want them to do.

For those who do not know.. A punch skirt is a free sliding skirt that goes between your meat and your sinker. The sinker is usually pegged and your meat is usually rigged on a straight shank hook, but not always.

The skirt is supposed to make it easier to get through the thick stuff.. I'm not 100% sure this happens.. but it does get through a TON easier than a jig of similar weight. And you then do have a larger profile than if you just used a tube...

I ended up making my own out of Electrical grommets and tied my skirts to that.

They work pretty good especially in the thick stuff. For me its another weapon for the thick stuff opposed to just a jig. I usually use a rage craw texas rigged with the skirt between a tru tungsten bullet weight.
