Winter Robins?

Lunker

Recommended Posts

Saw a robin in the south metro on December 27th. Wish I would have had a camera, as it was snowing heavily and looked very out of place. Wondering if this is as rare as I think, or an occasional winter sight.

Hey lunker, Robins overwinter in Duluth every year. One week ago I counted 15 in one mountain ash tree by my house. The berries are now gone and so are the robins. smile Though they only moved a block over to the next mountain ash berry tree.

I have two crabapple trees in the yard and a group of Robins is around most of the winter. A few days ago there was about 50 of them around coming and going to the crabapples for a meal. Here's one I could zoom in on.
