Connecting Lakemaster to your Computer???

beretta

Question

I just got a Garmin Oregon and I am planning on getting the lakemaster Micro SD card for it. I was just wondering, Can you put the card into the SD slot on your computer or leave it in your GPS and plug it into your computer to view it on your computer screen?

I believe you can do that with some of the topo DVDs but I havent heard of anyone doing it with their lakemaster chips..?

Thanks!

Not sure how the Mapsource will function with the SD card. I do know that the Mapsource software is what I use to interface with my Garmin Rino120. I also purchased the PC version of MNLakemaster and with that, yes, I can preview a lake, mark waypoints, create tracks, create routes, etc. all from the comfort of my living room and then download the data to my Rino120.

I have the 2008 Minnesota version on this laptop and with the help from Lakemaster tech support I got my Microsoft GPS reciever (from my Streets & Trips software) to interface with the GPS function on the software. Pretty cool the way it works!

I'm hoping that it works like the Streets & Trips software does in my car. I've used that all over the country and it's sooo much better than the dashboard GPS navigation units. You can see the entire area, zoom in/out, and it tracks your location and direction. I found many customers ($$$$) and saved a ton of time with that tool. The Lakemaster setup looks to work the same way and should be equally valuable in the truck driving out to the ice fishing spots!
