Starting yet another fish house project. This is a new design that I thought of for getting a little more room inside the house (it may already out there, but have not yet seen it). The finished wheel wells measure 4ft.-6in. long by 34in. high. It is a 6,000# system w/12" brake drums, floor measurements are: 8'X16' w/4' v-front. Components that are fully removable are: Winches w/straps, leaf springs, pulleys, drop hitch, the full axle assembly. The total width (from outside wheel to wheel) measures 8'-4". Total length of house with the v-front is 20'. The pivot arm tubes are made of solid 2-1/2" steel with grease fittings.

More pics of the house will come later. It is still a work in progress.

Bbb the house looks great. Just a coupl questions. How deep are your wheel wells? Do you know how much it weighs? How much ice do you like to have before you pull something that size out?

The wheel wells measure 12" deep, 34" high, 4'6" long. Just had it weighed today. 3,500#'s.

I would feel safe on 14" of good ice.

Have not added anything up yet. If I were to guess, maybe $6,500.00. That may be a little low though.

Wow BBB, Like stated earlier I amazed how quickly you put it together and it sure looks good. Real good. Would love to tackle soething like that some day, thanks for the great ideas. I will be sure to send a loyalty check when I do for the ideas I will borrow from you.

As far as the house goes, yes we installed the carpet tonight, and put 8 holes in with catch covers. I have not taken any more pics of the house.

Very nice triple B. I really like this design, couple questions for ya:

What do you use as a lever to crank the winch when you raise the house? Doesn't look like you could fit a normal crank lever on it due to the proximity to the side wall.

You stated the winches are removed when the house is in travel. What holds them in place when they are in use? Is it just resting inside the upright post, or something like that?

The perimeter tubing is 2"X4" with 2"X3" cross bracing. Tongue is 3"X3".

Price of making the frame will very depending on what size you want.

LOL. We actually did pretty well on the trip to Winnie. We caught some really nice walleyes, but the only bad part was that they were all in the slot, and had to go back down.

Bigbuck, if I'm calculating the picture correctly, you actually put two holes up in the V/bathroom?? I'd heard of people doing that but never actually seen it. I always thought at least one would be good, a person could put a rattle reel down.

The cranks are actually behind the wheels, but the crank comes off, so no grime to worry about.

Does anyone know if the type of Microwave in this house gets bolted down? I'm trying to remove one to get to the outlet behind it and don't really want to remove tounge and groove to do so...
