Anyone use a Lowrance green box for ice fishing?

I came upon a Lowrance green box in my garage and I was wondering if anyone uses them on the ice. I imagine it would burn through lantern batteries but I'm sure I could rig it to a vex battery. I already have 2 vexilars and am wondering if it is worth messing with.

Funny, I saw one in the back of a pickup on my way to scout a couple of lakes this afternoon. They sure bring back some good memories of fishing with my grandpa. When I was younger I couldn't understand what my grandpa was describing as far as bottom, lure, fish. I finally caught many years later when I purchased and FL-8!

I used mine for ice and I could adjust it to see my jig and fish,it was no vex or marcum by any means but still put me on fish,I made a ducer holder out of a 1 inch X 1/8th inch flat steel

I have one I got from mom when dad passed away a few years back. I remember using it when I was a kid and it's no FL-20 but I could see my jig and fish on it. At the time, before the FL-8, it worked better than nothing.

It will be useless if you use it next to other flashers because it can't knock out the interference. I have one and tried it for ice fishing, then put on the shelf and haven't used it since. Just doesn't work well enough to mess with.
